Cycle Charlotte on May 15th, 2010

This is a local event to myself in Charlotte, NC.   This has been an event I have attended since year one and highly encourage anyone within driving distance to make the trip.   Experiencing the city of Charlotte by bicycle is a very unique and exciting feeling.   I won’t be able to attend but would love if someone would cover the event for Commute By Bike.

Cycle Charlotte

Cycle Charlotte, held on the final weekend of BIKE! Charlotte, is an urban safe street bicycle ride and cycling festival that will attract friends and family from around the region to South End Charlotte. Historic South End will serve as the anchor for this exciting event. Cycle Charlotte is NOT your typical spandex bicycle ride. This ride is a family friendly ride designed to encourage anyone and everyone who owns a bicycle to “air up” the tires and EXPERIENCE CHARLOTTE WITHOUT A WINDSHIELD.

Cycle Charlotte has two different routes, a 14 mile and 25 mile, that travel through many of Charlotte’s unique and beautiful neighborhoods.   After the ride enjoy the festivities which include a bike trials show, vendors, food from Common Market and Phat Burrito, Red Hook Brewery beer tents and live music from three different bands.

The Mission of Cycle Charlotte:
Promoting a friendlier and safer environment in Charlotte for bicycle transportation.
