Can I use a child bicycle trailer for a child as a pet trailer aand what is the difference ?
BikeShopHub.com Answer:
The 2 main differences between a bike dog trailer and a bike child trailer are the side profile and floors. A bike child trailer has a profile that is swept back to suit a seated child while a bike pet trailer has more of a bulbous front end for the forward seated angle of a dog. The flooring of bike child trailers is often contoured and designed primarily with interfacing with the child seats in mind. The floor of a bike dog trailer is generally a bit firmer and flatter.
To utilize a bike child trailer for a pet, it would likely be necessary to remove the child seats and harnesses. Depending on how flat the floor is, sometime of padding or further modification may be necessary. The swept back angle of the bike child trailer may not be ideal for your dog to sit facing forward, though many dogs especially if they are not too large will likely be able to figure out a comfortable enough position.
