development of the Wandertec CELLO bike case (see the Wandertec Story). This accessory for BOB Trailers is a truly unique design bringing together the function of a bike case with a BOB Cargo Trailer. Priced at $600, the CELLO priced itself out of the select market of most cyclists traveling with BOB Trailers, but it provided a foundational base for a developing our next phase of bike trailer concepts.
The products that followed the CELLO have been more manageable to manufacture and have become popular aftermarket accessories for many BOB Trailer users, expanding the usability of this great bike trailer. Our BOB Trailer accessories are the Wandertec SAX, the Wandertec Cargo Net and the Wandertec Rack Adapter Kit for the Greenspeed Rack.
The Wandertec SAX adds to the versatility of the BOB Trailer by containing the cargo basket area. Without the SAX smallitems need to be contained in the BOB DrySAK or a similar style of bag. Throw the SAX on and your BOB Trailer becomes a veritable trunk for your bicycle perfect for groceries and the miscellaneous nick-nack essentials of life.

And to hold all of this stuff in place, we put together the Wandertec Cargo Net. Working at its best in combination with the SAX, this Cargo Net is sized right to keep things from bouncing out of the SAX. Without the SAX, the Cargo Net is well suited for holding large items such as boxes in the BOB or holding the BOB DrySAK in place and offering a netted storage area on top of it. For getting even more cargo onto a BOB Trailer, we came up with an adapter kit for mounting a Greenspeed Rack to the BOB Trailer. This rack was originally designed for the rear 16″ wheel of a Greenspeed Trike. Already close in spec to fit nicely on the rear wheel of the BOB, the mounting solution was a simple bracket a bolt kit that interfaces between the rack and the BOB Yak or BOB Ibex Trailer.
Beyond our manufacturing of BOB Trailer accessories, our intimate knowledge of all things BOB extended into finding a wide range of items ideal to use with the BOB Trailer that we’ve made available at the Bike Trailer Shop. Essentially, we’ve taken our expertise in accessorizing the BOB Trailer and extended it to all bike cargo trailers and compatible accessories.
Enter the Wandertec BONGO Trailer. In 2009, we decided to make a full plunge back into bike trailer manufacturing with the introduction of the Wandertec BONGO bike cargo trailer. Having become intimately familiar with a wide range of bike cargo trailers, we had been developing a strong understanding of what cyclist were looking for. We embarked on designing a trailer that was light weight, tough and usable in a wide variety of situations.

While single-wheel bike trailers designs offer great versatility in the terrain they can be used on, they are more limited by nature in their uses and design capacities. The Wandertec BONGO’s two wheeled frame was laid out to be an ideal platform to mount a variety of carrying devises to with the potential for really mounting or bolting anything that one can imagine to it.
