Meet the Met

I just stumbled upon this great video about an event called Meet the Met, which took place back in June on the Metropolitan Branch Trail near Washington D.C. The event showed the communities around the trail some of the benefits of the space, as well as walking or cycling for community and personal health. The event was co-hosted by Rails to Trails Conservancy as part of National Trails Day. The video is one that I wanted to share, because it really highlights a lot of the benefits of a trail like the Metropolitan Branch Trail for many facets of a community and the people who live there. It’s an encouraging video.Meet the Met from Rails-to-Trails Conservancy on Vimeo.I found this video in an article titled “People riding bikes aren’t jerks, they’re just like you“. I do recommend giving it a read, as well.

It’s great to see what’s going on with biking infrastructure in DC.

At :34 there’s a drummer wearing a traditional garment from the grasslands of Cameroon. In the language Mungaka, it’s called a yadala. I’m just showing off that I know that. I own one too.

Don’t yawn. I saw you yawning!
