The Added Hitch
The new improved Steel Hitch will work on the older model Burley trailers.
The newly designed Burley Steel Hitch offers a lightweight design that is easy to install and use with almost any bike.
The Steel Hitch is secured in place by the bicycle hub’s rear quick-release or nutted axle and will work on most any bike, including full-suspension mountain bikes and bikes with disc brakes. Will not fit socket, Breezer-style dropouts.
We offer the flex connector/strap kit as an option for the Burley Forged Hitch. This kit includes the flex connector, safety strap, the lock pin, and the bolt for connecting the trailer’s flex connector to the trailer’s hitch arm.
Only one flex connector/safety strap kit is needed per trailer, and is necessary for the Steel Hitch. You can also get additional hitches to easily switch your trailer between multiple bikes.
Burley recommends that you replace the flex connector every five years.
