Overview

Your new best friend

Big trip people and shorter riders rejoice. When you need the extra space that rack bags provide, but need something that will not get in your way when the going gets strange, Nano Panniers are the ticket.

Think of these bags as frame bag supplements that stay on your bike; designed to carry dense and heavy stuff like food, water and fuel with a low profile form. With a bikepacking mindset you still put your bulky, water sensitive items like clothing, sleeping and shelter gear in a waterproof handle bar setup, seat pack, or on top of the rack deck.

These panniers are not waterproof.

For shorter riders who need to run a rack due to limited carrying space elsewhere, these bags are your new best friend. Nano Panniers at only 3″ wide at the seams, provide just enough extra carrying capacity and hovering around a pound per set, don’t weigh you down.

Access is through a single main zipper, using our proven Revelate exclusive zip-stretch system using stretch woven Cordura and durable molded tooth zippers for fast access.

To keep the mounting as simple as possible, the bags are joined and can only be run as a pair. The fixed width is spaced for Old Man Mountain phat Sherpa racks, for narrower rack decks a set of cam buckles takes up the slack, or simply let the bags ride lower along the sides. Tension the system with straps and cam buckels on either side.

    RD Nano Panniers

The RD Nano Panniers were just what I needed for a 2-week bikepacking trip on the GDMBR. Not too big. But just enough room to carry the extras that wouldn’t fit in my frame and seat packs.

    Very satisfied

Campfire customer service was terrific and the Nano panniers are high quality. I really like the large zipper and stretchy border material; makes packing and unpacking quick and easy. I have a shorter, narrower, and smaller rear rack (Soma) and had to get a little creative on looping the Nano straps around the supports before cinching the buckles. In addition, I looped a small Voile strap around the top of the pannier harness to secure it to the rack and prevent any fore/aft movement. Rock solid on the trail loaded up with tent and clothing items.

Great Panniers for my Wife's 24" Bicycle

Just got my wife's rack this weekend after a month worth of waiting. Bought the panniers weeks ago and the fit and look great on her 24" cruiser. Glad they had these in stock at that time as they are a hard to find item in these times of finding products. Thank you Campfire Cycling!

    Great, Compact Panniers for Bikepacking

First, Campfire Cycling was first to have these back in stock after the long COVID absence, and was also quick to ship after ordering. This is my second set. I have one on my two mountain bikes so I can quickly stuff some clothes etc into the pannier without any issue of space limits for local trips. They are very handy in that regard, with little cost to aerodynamics. For true bikepacking, they are narrower than using Ortlieb's gravel panniers (tho also a smaller capacity and not rainproof). Basically anything that would hit these would hit my legs, so they are reasonably safe even in confined trails. And they add something like 13L of space I otherwise wouldn't have. They do require a rack -- but that is something I insist on for ALL my bikes. Given a rack, they use space otherwise unoccupied, and do not interfere with either a rack-top pack or a seat bag. The biggest drawback is that they are not watertight (unlike all of Ortlieb's stuff, and most other Revelate stuff). Which means you need plastic bags or dry sacks inside for anything you want to protect. If you put food packets or cooking gear there, you're good. Another drawback IMO is that the pannier are affixed to the bottom end of the rack with strapping and a plastic closure. Its a little crude, and anything plastic is at risk of unrepairable damage on the trail. So this part could be better.

    Perfect Size

I like the fact that these are smaller and they fit my bike perfectly. They do seem a bit pricey considering they feel like they're made of a very thin vinyl like material that could become brittle over time. I also forgot to check the FedEx option for delivery, so shipping defaulted to USPS. That of course meant they were delivered to someone else's home. In any event, Campfire shipped super fast and I'm pretty happy with the panniers.
